Programmed Skilled Workforce is a leading provider of managed workforce and training service. Our clients are currently seeking Maintenance Fitters / Mechanical Fitters (temp & temp-to-permanent opportunities)

Locations: Longwarry

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking experienced, qualified tradespeople to join our team:

• Mechanical / Maintenance Fitters (with a cert 3 mechanical trade qualification)
• Fitter-Machinists who are competent using mills, manual lathes, drill presses and other workshop machinery

What you need

• Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing environments and with production-line machinery, breakdowns and preventative maintenance
• SAP System (not essential but highly desirable)
• Experience in the FMCG industry
• For fitter-machinist or mechanical fitter roles — hands-on experience operating milling machines, manual lathes, grinders or manual machining tools, and ability to fit and assemble
• A commitment to safety, reliability, good communication skills, teamwork, and flexibility to work, day and afternoon shifts— depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive (breakdown) maintenance on plant and production line equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical faults to minimise production downtime.
• Carry out machine setup, line changeovers, commissioning, regular inspections and equipment servicing.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs/records and report any issues to supervisors.
• Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to support continuous improvement, safety compliance and reliability goals.
• Assembly, installation and maintaining/repairing machinery and equipment

• This role can be an allrounder from electrical, mechanical and welding.
• The below is a picture of a fuel tainer they work on, this comes bare and they are required to attach all hose reel gantries, service pits, hoists/column lifts, air compressors, waste oil tanks, mechanical fitting, various components, some eletrical cabaling, wiring looms
• Soft Skills such as problem solving, creating thinking, ability to work with team, ability collaborate with other team members, interpersonal etc.
